The United States expects the bombing of Iran to continue, as this will improve Washington's position in negotiations with Tehran. This was announced on April 21 by the American President Donald Trump.

"I expect bombing because I think it's the right attitude [for negotiations with Iran]. But you know, we're ready. I mean, the army is determined," Trump said in an interview with CNBC.

The head of the White House also recalled that "huge amounts of money" had been spent on the "restoration" of the American army.

"Do you remember those huge numbers? We talked about it once. A lot of money was spent for the army. I created it. We've done a great job with our army," Trump added.

On the same day, Trump said that the United States did not want to extend the ceasefire agreement with Iran. According to him, he intends to use the possibility of resuming hostilities to put pressure on Iran in the negotiations.

The Axios portal explained on April 21 that Iran is delaying negotiations with the United States due to pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which insists on a tougher stance. According to him, Pakistani, Egyptian and Turkish mediators called on the Iranians to attend the meeting. Trump has threatened to resume bombing if an agreement is not reached.
