During the negotiations between the United States and Iran, the agenda of discussions turned to the issue of the inadmissibility of Tehran's possession of nuclear weapons. This was announced on April 20 by the American President Donald Trump.

"I mean, we're not negotiating about anything other than the fact that they won't have nuclear weapons. And that's a pretty simple question, if you look at it. That's it," Trump said in a PBS interview.

The head of the White House noted that Iran and the United States have agreed to hold the next round of negotiations, despite the assurances of the Iranian side to the contrary. According to him, if there are no Iranian representatives in Islamabad, everything will be fine.

On that day, Trump announced that representatives of his administration were heading to Islamabad to participate in negotiations on Iran. The American leader added that the United States would offer a reasonable and fair deal to the Iranian representatives.

Later, the IRNA news agency reported that Iran had decided to withdraw from the second round of negotiations due to excessive US demands and frequent changes of position. At the same time, The Associated Press noted that the Pakistani authorities had nevertheless prepared for negotiations, but on April 21.
