This week, the dollar will be in the range of 80-86 rubles, the euro — 94-102 rubles, the yuan — 11.6–12.4 rubles. Taisiya Veprentseva, an economist and founder of the Delomant Group consulting company, told Izvestia on April 20.

On April 18, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation set the exchange rate of the American currency at 76 rubles, the European currency at 89.6 rubles, and the Chinese currency at 11.1 rubles. At the same time, according to the Moscow Stock Exchange, on April 20, the yuan is trading at 11 rubles.

"The ruble looks stronger than its fundamental level. Until the end of 2026, the baseline scenario remains a moderate weakening without sudden movements. The support is provided by a high key rate, commodity revenues and continued restrictions on capital flows. At the same time, the pressure is gradually increasing: the current account surplus has noticeably decreased, imports are recovering, and foreign exchange earnings are becoming less stable," the expert explained.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper reported on April 12 about the decline in American futures after the breakdown of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict between the United States and Iran in Islamabad. Earlier, oil prices rose sharply: U.S. crude futures gained 9.2% and reached $105 per barrel, while the price of Brent rose to about $102. At the same time, futures for the S&P 500 and Dow Jones indices declined by about 1%.
