- In Cherepovets, 10 schoolchildren from the Moscow region were hospitalized with poisoning.
In Cherepovets, 10 schoolchildren from the Harmonica collective near Moscow were hospitalized with poisoning. This was announced on April 19 by the Governor of the Vologda region, Georgy Filimonov.
The ensemble came to the city for the competition of performers on folk instruments and folklore singing "Russian games". 20 participants felt unwell.
"10 schoolchildren with symptoms of food poisoning were admitted to the second regional hospital in Cherepovets. One child is in intensive care in a moderate condition. His life is not in danger," Filimonov wrote on his Telegram channel.
Four adults also complained about their well-being, and after being examined, they refused to be hospitalized.
According to Filimonov, experts are considering two causes of poisoning: eating in a Cherepovets cafe or an introduced enterovirus infection, the source of which may be in another region. The establishment where the Harmonics participants dined will be checked by Rospotrebnadzor.
On April 16, a case was opened in Odintsovo regarding the poisoning of 27 kindergarten students. According to the investigation, on April 9, 27 pupils of the institution aged from two to seven years applied to the hospital in the city. They showed symptoms of intestinal infection.
