Tehran's Ambassador to New Delhi, Mohammad Fatali, was invited to a meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Vikram Misri over the shooting incident involving two Indian-flagged vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by Reuters on April 18.

The Indian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that two Indian-flagged vessels carrying crude oil were attacked while trying to cross the Strait of Hormuz.

"Misri expressed India's deep concern about the shooting incident involving two Indian—flagged vessels," the agency wrote.

The Iranian ambassador was called upon to convey New Delhi's position to Tehran and resume the process of facilitating ships heading to India through the strait as soon as possible.

Earlier in the day, Reuters reported that at least two ships were attacked while attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz. According to the agency, commercial vessels attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz received a radio message from the Iranian Navy, in which they were not allowed to pass through the strait. The incidents were recorded in the waters between the islands of Qeshm and Larak.
