An attack on a tanker near Oman was reported in the UK.
Boats of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked a tanker near the coast of Oman. This was announced on April 18 by the British Navy's Merchant Marine Coordination Center (UKMTO).
"The tanker's captain reports the approach of two boats of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which did not ask questions over VHF radio communications, and then opened fire on the tanker," the publication says on the UKMTO website.
According to the report, the tanker is now safe, none of the crew was injured. The Omani authorities have begun investigating the incident.
British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said on the same day that, despite the ceasefire, the Strait of Hormuz has not yet returned to normal operation. At the same time, she called on Tehran to allow the full resumption of global shipping.
