The number of car dealerships has reached 4.2 thousand in Russia

In the first quarter of this year, the number of automotive showrooms in Russia increased by 2.8% compared to the beginning of the year and reached 4.2 thousand locations. This indicator also exceeded the level of the first quarter of last year by 2.6%. Relative to the beginning of the year, the number of car dealerships of Chinese brands increased by 3.2% and amounted to 2.7 thousand units. 154 points have opened and 70 have closed. The number of automotive brand showrooms from China remained approximately at the level of the first quarter of 2025, with a share of 64%.

According to estimates, the Deepal brand opened the most car dealerships in January-March (65 locations). Next are Evolve (17 points) and Avior (14 points). It is expected that in the second half of the year, the Russian Volga brand, whose distributor is looking for 130 partners, may become the leader in discoveries.

As the interlocutors of the publication explained, it's not so much about the emergence of new showrooms, as about the transformation of the dealer network. Companies renegotiate contracts and add brands to the existing infrastructure: the same dealer can work with several car brands, which statistically increases the number of "sites", but does not always reflect the actual expansion of the network.

According to experts, Chery has the largest dealer network among Chinese brands (218 locations), and all points are mostly filled with cars of the new Russian brand Tenet. Geely (210 locations) and Changan (201 locations) are next in terms of the number of showrooms.
