- The Russian Embassy called the awarding of the Four Freedoms Award to Zelensky hypocrisy
Awarding President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky the Four Freedoms Award, which is given for observing the principles proclaimed by the 32nd American President Franklin Roosevelt, is hypocrisy. This was announced on Thursday, April 16, at the Russian Embassy in the Netherlands.
"The decoration of the expired "leader" of the Kiev junta with the Four Freedoms award in Middelburg sets a new standard of hypocrisy," the embassy said in a statement on the social network X (former. Twitter).
The embassy attached a poster to the post showing four freedoms that Zelensky allegedly protects: "freedom of speech," "freedom of religion," "freedom from want," and "freedom from fear." The press service of the Russian diplomatic mission noted that there is currently no corresponding concept in Ukraine at all.
On April 11, Richard Sakwa, a British political scientist and professor at the University of Kent, called the Ukrainian president one of the cowardly leaders of the state of all time. In his opinion, Zelensky is ready to "fight to the end" rather than establish a just and genuine peace with Russia. Zelensky's figure, as the expert clarified, is catastrophic, as it sends its people "into the meat grinder."
