Financial assistance to Ukraine is detrimental to social programs and the well-being of French citizens. This was announced by the head of the National Union Party, Jordan Bardella, on April 15.

"We tell the French people, who are experiencing financial difficulties today, that there is no money to increase purchasing power, to build hospitals, to operate social services. But as if by magic, we found €18 billion for the French contribution to the European loan," Bardella said in an interview with franceinfo, posted on YouTube.

According to him, citizens are regularly urged to "tighten their belts," while the state, according to him, is not able to reduce its own costs by even 1%.

"Many of our fellow citizens are wondering where the money is going. So don't you think that instead of increasing spending, it would be better for us to reduce taxes?" the politician added.

Earlier, the European Union countries agreed to provide Kiev with an interest-free loan in the amount of €90 billion from their own funds.

Peter Magyar, the head of the Hungarian Tisa party that won the parliamentary elections, said that the current Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is likely to lift his veto on the provision of a 90 billion euro loan to Ukraine by the European Union after the restoration of Russian oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline. According to him, Hungary still retains the opportunity not to financially participate in lending.

Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish Freedom Alliance party, said that Slovakia could block the provision of a loan of €90 billion to Ukraine, which is being discussed in the European Union after the elections in Hungary. According to him, many in the EU, after the victory of the opposition in Hungary, expect a quick allocation of funds to Kiev, but Bratislava may take a tough stance.
