The children of Valeria Chekalina, known under the pseudonym Lercek, will remain with their mother, despite the arrest of the head of the family and her condition after treatment. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

The legal status of the Lerchek children

Maria Yarmush, a lawyer in civil and international law, explained that the presence of young children was taken into account by the court when sentencing Artem Chekalin. However, due to the severity of economic crimes, including tax evasion and money laundering, this factor has not become mitigating.

At the moment, Chekalina can continue to take care of the children. The blogger is undergoing rehabilitation after treatment, but, according to the expert, the state does not remove children from the family in such cases, as relatives or babysitters can provide care.

The lawyer stressed that government agencies do not interfere in the family's affairs as long as the parent copes with his duties. The transfer of custody to relatives or designated persons is possible only if the mother's condition significantly worsens or the criminal case against her is reopened.

The court's decision on Lercek's ex-husband

The Gagarin Court of Moscow found businessman Artyom Chekalin guilty of organizing the withdrawal of more than 250 million rubles to the UAE through controlled companies. The court sentenced him to seven years of imprisonment in a penal colony and a fine of 196 million rubles. The businessman was taken into custody directly in the courtroom.

During the debate, the State prosecution requested 7.5 years in prison for the defendant. The prosecutor insisted that the defendant's correction was impossible without isolation from society. The businessman himself pleaded guilty only partially, denying the existence of criminal intent and challenging the qualification of his actions. Before the meeting, he admitted that he came with a "heavy heart" and prepared the children for his possible absence.

Letter from Lercek

Blogger Valeria Chekalina, known under the pseudonym Lercek, sent a personal handwritten letter to the judge. In her appeal, she thanked the court for suspending her own criminal case for the duration of treatment and asked to show mercy to her ex-husband. She stressed that Chekalin is an absolute authority for their children.

In the letter, the blogger paid special attention to the future of the family, expressing concern for the fate of the children in case of deterioration of her condition. She noted that all tax debts to the state were fully repaid in March of this year, which became the reason for the refusal of the Investigative Committee to initiate proceedings under the article on tax evasion.

"If fate turns out that way and I'm gone, I need to know that Dad will be there for them," the blogger said.

Lerchek's health status

Valeria Chekalina is currently undergoing a complex course of treatment at the Blokhin Cancer Center for stage four stomach cancer. According to her ex-husband, due to illness and chemotherapy, she began to have serious health problems, including blurred vision and difficulty moving. Despite this, Chekalina tries to stay active for the sake of the children and records videos about her struggle with the disease.

"I love this life very much and I will definitely live by your prayers," the blogger addressed her audience.

Valeria Chekalina and choreographer Luis Squicciarini recently had a son named Daniel. There was a delay in obtaining a birth certificate, as the registry office initially did not have a document on the dissolution of marriage with Artem Chekalin. Later, all the necessary documents were provided, and the newborn received a double name, although the parents prefer to use the Daniel option.
