Peter Magyar, the leader of the Tisa party that won the elections in Hungary, is a simulacrum politician, as he is in many ways similar to his opponent, Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Oleg Bondarenko, director of the Progressive Policy Foundation, said this on Tuesday, April 14.

"Magyar is a hero of his time, a fashionable and modern politician...> In fact, Peter Magyar is a successful simulacrum politician," he said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

According to Bondarenko, the future prime minister is a native of Orban's Fidesz party and his ideological attitudes are still similar to the views of the outgoing Hungarian prime minister.

"In fact, there was a successful rebranding of a politician who, in fact, remained ideologically close to Orban," the political scientist emphasized.

Simulacrum is a term of postmodern philosophy that was coined by Jean Baudrillard. It means a copy or image without the original, which does not have a real prototype. In politics, it is used to describe phenomena or figures that reproduce the form and rhetoric of existing models without their meaningful content.

Alexey Mukhin, Director General of the Center for Political Information, said yesterday that after the victory of the Tisa party in the parliamentary elections in Hungary, there would be no fundamental change in the country's course, but some adjustments were possible.

Politico newspaper reported that the hopes of Ukraine's allies that Budapest's attitude towards Kiev will change dramatically and dramatically after the defeat of Orban's party are probably exaggerated. Magyar opposes the supply of weapons to Ukraine and its accelerated accession to the EU, according to the website. kp.ru .

On the same day, Magyar confirmed Hungary's intention to continue buying oil from Russia, IA Regnum reports. He also expressed the hope that after the end of the conflict in Ukraine, the EU countries will lift all sanctions against Russia, RT reports.
