Russia states that negotiations between the United States and Iran have so far ended in vain. This was announced on April 13 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"So far, we can state that the negotiations have ended in vain," he said in an interview with the Vesti news agency.

The Kremlin's official representative also expressed the opinion that the danger of a resumption of war in the Middle East has not been stopped.

Earlier in the day, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araqchi, said that the United States was constantly changing its demands during negotiations with Iran to resolve the conflict, so an agreement could not be reached.

At the same time, Peskov noted that Russia continues to be open to providing any kind services that will help de-escalate tensions around Iran.

Political analyst Dmitry Brije said that the failure of the memorandum in Islamabad signaled the withdrawal of the United States and Iran from the logic of phased de-escalation and increased the risks of a new escalation in the region. The expert stressed that the consequences of the breakdown of negotiations have already affected regional security.
