- The opposition Tisa party has consolidated its leadership in the parliamentary elections in Hungary.
According to preliminary data, the opposition Tisa party is leading in the parliamentary elections in Hungary: after processing 29.2% of the ballots, it receives 132 out of 199 seats. This was announced on April 12 by Izvestia journalist Igor Baldin, citing data from the National Election Office.
"This is an absolute record for elections in Hungary. The votes will be counted until the morning: it is not yet clear who won. Two candidates are confident of victory," the journalist reports.
It is specified that the turnout in the elections was a record high compared to previous years and amounted to 77%.
On April 12, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's adviser Balazs Orban announced violations of the voting process in the parliamentary elections by supporters of the opposition Tisa party. According to Balazh, there were cases of "pressure on employees" of polling stations.
