Polling stations for the parliamentary elections have opened in Hungary. This was announced on April 12 by the Origo portal.

It is noted that about 7.5 million voters will be able to express their will at more than 10 thousand polling stations, which are open from 6:00 to 19:00 local time (from 7:00 to 20:00 Moscow time).

The elections are held in one round. Voters have the right to cast ballots both for party lists as a whole and for individual candidates. The preliminary voting results will be published immediately after the polling stations close.

According to the portal, the residents of the republic will elect 199 parliamentarians, and the seats will be distributed as follows: 106 seats according to the majority system in single—member districts and 93 - proportionally according to party lists.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said yesterday that if Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban wins the election, the country will maintain its current political course, including neutrality regarding the Ukrainian conflict, and will also oppose Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU).

On April 10, Orban said in a video message to citizens that opponents of the current government in Hungary want to seize it by any means, trying to challenge the results of the parliamentary elections and discrediting them internationally. He added that the global situation requires unity from Hungarians, and called for avoiding disagreements and hostility within the state.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
