On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists who do not have a driver's license or are deprived of their rights to refrain from any attempts to get behind the wheel and drive onto public roads. By their reckless actions, they endanger not only their own lives and health, but also the lives and health of other road users.
In addition, drivers were urged to strictly observe traffic regulations and be more careful on the roads of towns and cities, especially in the evening. It is important not to overestimate your strength and driving skills, to abandon risky driving, exceeding the speed limit, to refrain from sudden rash maneuvers and changes of lanes, overtaking and driving into oncoming traffic, even in the permitted places. The agency also drew the attention of drivers to the strict observance of the rules for transporting children.
Drivers should take special care when approaching intersections and pedestrian crossings. It is recommended not to rush to "skip" them as quickly as possible, but, on the contrary, to slow down to the minimum speed in advance. You should never rush to start driving even when the traffic light is clear. First, it is important to make sure that the crossing is completely free of foot traffic.
"The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds pedestrians that they must cross the road at pedestrian crossings, underground or aboveground pedestrian crossings, and in their absence — at intersections along sidewalks or roadsides. In the absence of a crossing or intersection in the visible area, it is allowed to cross the road at right angles to the edge of the carriageway in areas without dividing lanes and fences where it is clearly visible in both directions," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and prevention of child traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
