Only 31% of vehicles registered in Ingushetia are insured under CTP. This is one of the lowest rates in the country, the press service of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA) told Izvestia on April 9.

"It is important to take into account that this indicator indicates the coverage of CTP policies from all registered vehicles in the region. And some vehicles may not move on the roads, but, for example, stand in a garage," the RSA explained.

The All-Russian Union of Insurers (VSS) took part in an interdepartmental meeting on the situation in the field of auto insurance and countering insurance fraud in Ingushetia. The Vice-President of the Supreme Court, Sergei Yefremov, appealed to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the republic with a proposal to strengthen the raids of the State Traffic Inspectorate to identify drivers without CTP policies and bring them to administrative responsibility.

He drew attention to the fact that some local car owners use CTP policies of the Khatkor insurance company, which had left the market and operated on the territory of the DPR. And more than half of all insurance events since the termination of the insurer's activities have occurred not in the new territories where CTP policies were sold, but in the territory of the Republic of Ingushetia, the Vice-president of the VSS noted. Yefremov also pointed out the importance of increasing control over the initiation of criminal cases under the insurance fraud article by the prosecutor's office and called for speeding up the introduction of cameras on the roads.

Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs suggested that insurers cooperate with the police to combat fraudulent schemes. Due to the peculiarities of the region and the lack of cameras on the roads, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs for Ingushetia, Colonel Alexey Kozyarsky, recommended temporarily sending representatives of insurance companies along with employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate to the accident site in order to reduce corruption risks.

Earlier, on April 6, it was reported that the average cost of CTP policies in the Republic of Ingushetia has increased 2.8 times since December, and 2.2 times in the Novosibirsk region. In the whole country, policies for novice drivers have risen in price by about 14%.
