US President Donald Trump's Special Representative Steven Witkoff, US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner and US Vice President Jay Dee Vance may take part in talks with the Iranian side in Islamabad. This was reported on April 8 by CNN, citing sources.

"It is expected that Trump's special representative Stephen Witkoff, the son-in—law of the US President Jared Kushner and Vice President Jay Dee Vance will be present at the talks," the publication says.

According to the channel's sources, the negotiations are likely to take place with the participation of Pakistani intermediaries.

On April 7, Trump announced that he had agreed to suspend strikes on Iran for another two weeks. He also explained that the condition for this was the complete unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz, and Tehran would fulfill this. The head of the White House said that the United States had received a 10-point proposal from Iran to resolve the conflict. Washington is ready to continue working on its basis.

Later, the SNN TV channel, citing an order from the Supreme leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, reported that negotiations between the United States and Iran on working out the terms of a peace agreement would be held in Islamabad.
