Toyota has registered the Lexus model name in Russia

Toyota has registered a trademark in Russia with the name of the Lexus LBX model. Information about the state registration of the trademark appeared in the database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS).

The trademark was registered on April 7, 2026. It is registered under the "automotive" class 12 of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICTS). The copyright holder is Toyota Jidosha Kabusiki Kaisha (also trading as Toyota Motor Corporation) from Japan, the document says. The exclusive right expires on February 5, 2035.

Lexus LBX is a subcompact crossover that is designed primarily for the European and Japanese markets. It began to be produced at the end of 2023, the model was not officially supplied to the Russian Federation.

Toyota has stopped the supply of new cars to Russia and the production of cars at the plant in St. Petersburg in 2022. The Japanese manufacturer has decided to protect trademark rights in order to limit their use by third parties. In March, the Avensis and Corolla trademarks were registered, and in early April, the brand's logo was registered.
