Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said on April 6 that the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom were hiding their attitude towards American President Donald Trump, trying to prevent Washington from weakening support for Kiev.

"The EU/UK desperately hid their true anti—Trump position for as long as possible in order to continue to receive preferences and support in Ukraine," reads a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Dmitriev also cited data from a graph that shows the gap between the EU and the UK and the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement. He stressed that European countries are showing support for former Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and former US President Joe Biden.

On March 13, Dmitriev commented on the statement by the head of the European Diplomacy, Kai Kallas, about the EU's opposition to Trump. According to him, she is trying to "learn how to be smart."
