The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) plays an important role in developing the export potential of the agro-industrial complex. This was announced on April 2 by Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, at a meeting of the final board of the service.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Rosselkhoznadzor ensures that meat is safe, grain is healthy, and fields are free of pests. For this purpose, land supervision is also being improved.

Thus, over the past 10 years, more than 2.7 billion hectares have been returned to agricultural turnover in Russia. Modern digital systems are being implemented for efficient and comfortable use by manufacturers, as well as more sophisticated mechanisms for detecting violations. Patrushev outlined the vector of further development of the department.

"For more than two decades, the federal service has played an important role in ensuring the biological safety of our country and controls the quality of the products that enter the food supply and, accordingly, the ones that we eat. At the same time, our agro-industrial complex is moving towards new goals related to increasing production and exports. To fulfill them, it is necessary to combine efforts across the entire industry vertical. A large number of tasks of the Rosselkhoznadzor are aimed at developing the export potential of the agro-industrial complex. Work on creating new opportunities to increase supplies continues unabated. And if we take into account all product groups, in 2025, access was obtained to 22 more countries for 72 types of products. In particular, the Chinese market has great prospects for Russian companies. Last year, thanks to the activities of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Federal Service, the total number of enterprises approved by the Chinese side for the export of our goods increased. In addition, the list of vegetable raw materials supplied to China has been expanded 3.5 times. This opens up access for domestic exporters to other fairly large markets," Patrushev stressed.

The development of agricultural engineering was discussed on March 11 at a meeting led by Patrushev. The participants discussed issues of stimulating demand for agricultural machinery, measures to support its manufacturers, as well as plans to produce combine harvesters, tractors and self-propelled sprayers. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, spring field work has started in Russia, which has already covered 14 regions of the country. The pace is ahead of last year's figures.
