The psychologist spoke about the role of Easter in shaping the child's psyche
Involving children in family holidays, including Easter, plays a key role in building a sense of security and belonging to the family. Olga Kushnareva, a psychologist, family psychologist, and psychotherapist, told Izvestia about this on April 1.
"For a child, Easter is not about symbols and traditions in themselves, but about the feeling of 'I am with you, I am part of the family, I am loved and expected,'" the specialist noted.
Kushnareva emphasized that joint activities, such as cooking, decorating the house or participating in family rituals, form a child's sense of inclusion, caring and emotional support. Such traditions create a predictable and safe environment, promote the development of empathy and communication skills.
The expert added that the format of participation should take into account the age of the child. Young children perceive the holiday through play and teamwork, whereas as they age, they can gradually explain the meaning of traditions in simple and accessible language.
At the same time, according to the psychologist, it is important to avoid turning holidays into a commitment with strict rules. It is much more valuable to keep the lightness, to give the child the space to be himself.
"It is in an atmosphere of freedom and engagement that children naturally learn family values, learn attention, care, and form their own attitudes toward traditions," Kushnareva concluded.
On the same day, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, author of the book "Parents. The Return of meaning" and "Revelation" Tatiana Tsvetkova told Izvestia that the phrase "violation of the comfort zone" in conversation with teenagers most often occurs against the background of family conflicts, so they should be resolved through a calm and trusting dialogue. At the same time, the expert noted that the widespread approach today, in which a minor allegedly needs to be allowed almost everything, is erroneous.
