Sooner or later, manned launches will be transferred to the Vostochny cosmodrome, which will give an additional impetus to development, including personnel. This was announced on April 1 by Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation.

"In addition, now, as you know, a branch of the cosmonaut training center is being built (in the city of Tsiolkovsky, Amur region. — Ed.), since, one way or another, manned launches will sooner or later move to the Vostochny cosmodrome, this will also give an impetus to development, including personnel," Bakanov said, speaking at a plenary session of the Federation Council.

He added that the contractor was delaying the construction of the complex. According to the head of Roscosmos, the state corporation hopes to complete the construction by the end of 2026.

Bakanov said on March 28 that the Vostochny cosmodrome in 2026 will receive a third launch pad for light—class rockets. The head of Roscosmos clarified that conversion missiles based on the Topol intercontinental ballistic missile will be launched from there.
