Unidentified armed men forced a courier to deliver an explosive device to a police station in County Armagh. This was announced on March 31 by the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

The incident occurred on the evening of March 30 in the city of Lergan. Two masked men, one of whom was armed with a pistol, stopped a food delivery driver and put a suspicious object in his trunk.

"The driver was ordered to take him to the Lergan police station under threat of murder. The driver reached the station, where he ran up to the security staff, informing them that a bomb was planted in the car... The specialists made a controlled explosion to secure the car, finding out that it was a crude but workable improvised explosive device," the police said in a statement on their website.

After the incident, a large-scale police operation was carried out all night in the nearby area, and about 100 houses were evacuated. According to the investigation, dissident Republican groups were probably involved in the incident.

On March 28, French police detained a young man who allegedly tried to set off an improvised explosive device (IED) near a branch of the American bank Bank of America in Paris. It was noted that the suspect was not alone near the bank, his accomplice managed to escape.

The French Interior Minister said on the same day that the foiled terrorist attack in Paris was linked to the worsening situation in the Middle East. The suspect stated that he is a citizen of Senegal.
