Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi discussed the crisis situation around Iran. This was reported on March 31 on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"During the conversation, the discussion of the crisis situation around Iran continued, with an emphasis on finding ways to end hostilities caused by the unprovoked aggression by the United States and Israel," the foreign ministry said.

The heads of the ministries noted the need to urgently return the situation to a political and diplomatic settlement based on international law, taking into account the legitimate interests of all States in the region.

Avrov also expressed Russia's readiness to help find compromise solutions and confirmed his desire to maintain close coordination with Omani partners, including within the framework of the United Nations, to de-escalate the conflict as soon as possible and prevent its expansion.

On March 19, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Moscow was seriously concerned about the ongoing armed confrontation in the Persian Gulf, as well as the risks to the escalation scenario. According to the ministry, Russia, together with China, Turkey and other like-minded countries, is ready to help resolve the conflict.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 10 that Russia was ready, to the best of its ability, to help resolve the crisis in the Middle East and reduce the intensity of the tense situation. He also noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin, from the very beginning of hostilities in the region, offered various options for mediation and good offices to Russia.
