More than 130 historical sites in Iran have been damaged due to attacks by the United States and Israel

As a result of the attacks by the United States and Israel, 131 objects of Iran's historical and cultural heritage, including those of world significance, were damaged. This was announced on March 30 by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage of the Islamic Republic (Iran).

"The number of damaged historical sites, which was 114, has increased to 131. [This list includes] sites of world, national and regional significance," the Iranian Fararu news agency quoted the agency as saying.

The Ministry pointed out the growing scale of damage to historical sites, and also called on the world community to pay attention to the problem in order to preserve the cultural heritage of mankind.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on March 12 that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had attacked a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites in Iran. He clarified that the buildings, including those built in the 14th century, were under attack. The Ministry of Culture of Iran also reported on March 15 that 56 museums and historical monuments were damaged as a result of the strikes.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the strikes on Iran indiscriminate, and also said that this escalation observed in the Middle East could lead to radiological and environmental disasters for the entire region.
