Melikov named the cities of Dagestan with the most difficult situation due to floods

Makhachkala and Khasavyurt suffered the most due to floods in Dagestan. This was announced on March 29 by the head of the region Sergey Melikov.

"The cities where the situation with flooding and energy supply is most critical today are Makhachkala, Khasavyurt, and part of the Khasavyurt district," he said in an address published on the Telegram channel of the administration of the head of Dagestan.

He said that the regional government has already begun to assess the consequences and think about possible solutions to eliminate them. He also expressed the hope that the flooding would soon subside.

An extreme situation is possible in the Ryazan and Penza regions, as well as in Tatarstan and Mordovia.

On the same day, Bagautdin Mamaev, acting head of the Khasavyurt district of Dagestan, reported that the evacuation of the population had begun in the village of Adilotar due to rising water levels. The disaster affected more than 460 homes.

In some regions of Dagestan, precipitation exceeded 50 mm, setting new highs for a long time. Due to the effects of bad weather, the republic's administration has introduced a high-alert regime, which will be in effect until Monday.
