President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to the Middle East in search of help, which is getting less and less from Western countries. This was reported on March 29 by the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung.

"Zelensky's trip to the Persian Gulf region is the result of a clear strategic calculation. <...> This diplomatic offensive comes amid growing uncertainty about Western military assistance to Ukraine," the publication says.

The newspaper pointed out that the Pentagon is considering the possibility of redirecting weapons that were originally intended for Ukraine to the Middle East, as the conflict with Iran is depleting American stocks.

It is noted that for several weeks Kiev has been offering Eastern countries its inexpensive anti-drone protection systems in exchange for interceptor missiles necessary for the operation of air defense systems.

On March 27, Zelensky shared with BBC journalists his "very bad feeling" about the consequences of the conflict in the Middle East that could come for his country. Supplies of shells to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), including for air defense systems, as he suggested, may decrease.

Defense Express weapons expert Ivan Kirichevsky reported on March 17 that Ukraine, due to the conflict in the Middle East, may face an acute shortage of PAC-3 missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in the next 1-3 months.
