Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on March 27 that the United States and Iran are negotiating with Turkey, and information is being exchanged through Pakistan.
"Messages are transmitted through Pakistan. The Americans are coordinating this with us, and discussions are underway. We are also informing the Iranians about this. <...> We are trying to better understand the positions of the parties, their expectations and convey relevant messages," Fidan said on A Haber TV channel.
According to the Foreign Minister, the positions of the two countries in the negotiations have undergone major changes since the beginning of the conflict.
On March 27, US President Donald Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff announced possible talks with Tehran this week.
Ebrahim Zolfagari, the official representative of the central headquarters of the Khatam al-Anbiya military command, said on March 25 that Iran would negotiate with the United States only on its own initiative. Zolfaghari stressed the Islamic Republic's tough stance, noting that Iran does not intend to negotiate with those who adhere to the current policy.
