Experts have announced candidates for the title of the best cars of the year in the Russian Federation

The Organizing Committee of the National Automotive Business Experts Award "Top-5 Auto" announced the start of the new 2026 season and presented a long list of nominees from more than 60 new or significantly updated car models, whose sales in the Russian market started last year. The organizers of the contest informed Izvestia about this on March 27.

In the "Compact Car" category / Crossover" features 11 models, including the Belgee X70, Chery Tiggo 7L, Jaecoo J7, KGM Korando, Lada Iskra and Niva Travel, as well as the Omoda C7 and Tenet T7. In the nomination "Medium-sized car / Crossover" includes 20 models. Among them are the BAW 212, Belgee S50, Bestune T90, Changan CS75 Plus, GAC GS4, Haval F7x, Jetour T1, SWM G05 Pro, Tank 300, Moskvich M70 and others.

In the "Big Car" category / Crossover" includes nine models. For example, Bestune B70, GAC GS8, Sollers SP7, JAC RF8 and Moskvich M90. 15 models will compete for the title of the best electric car/hybrid, including Aito Seres M7, Avatr 11/12, Evolve i-Joy and i-Space, Exeed Exlatix ET and ES, Geely EX5, Li Auto, Rox 01 and Voyah Taishan models.

Finally, among commercial vehicles, the jury will choose from eight models, including Foton Tunland V7 and V9, Sollers SF1 and ST9 and Oting Palasso. Other nominations will be "Autoperson of the Year", "Best PR Department of an Automaker" and "Best Marketing Department of an Automaker".

Last year, according to the voting results, the Jetour T2 crossover was recognized as the "Car of the Year". Jetour Dashing became the best in the Compact Car/Crossover category. The Jaecoo J8 won in the Mid-size Car/Crossover category.
