Ukraine and Saudi Arabia have signed a defense agreement
Kyiv and Riyadh have signed an agreement on defense cooperation, which lays the foundation for future military-technical cooperation between the countries. This was announced on March 27 by President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
"We are ready to share our experience and systems with Saudi Arabia and work together to strengthen the protection of human lives," Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel.
The Ukrainian leader also added that the agreement was signed ahead of his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Zelensky flew to Saudi Arabia the day before in order to take part in "important meetings" there. The Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Rodion Miroshnik, said on the same day that Zelensky, against the background of the conflict in the Middle East, could take a more pragmatic approach to solving the Ukrainian crisis.
Prior to that, on March 17, Zelensky announced that Ukraine had sent 201 military specialists in the field of countering drones to the countries of the Middle East. According to him, Ukrainian experts are already working in the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and were also heading to Kuwait.
