The US Deputy Secretary of State called Poseidon and Petrel outrageous

The Burevestnik intercontinental cruise missile and the Poseidon unmanned underwater vehicle are prohibitive. This was announced on March 24 by Thomas Dinanno, US Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security.

"Weapons systems are becoming prohibitive, even by Russian standards, <...> the Poseidon underwater system, the Burevestnik, and their nuclear—powered cruise missile," he said, speaking at a hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The speech was broadcast on the official website of the Senate.

In addition, he added that the American side intends to initiate discussions with Russia on new types of nuclear weapons.

A conversation involving the five owners of the largest arsenals of such weapons is still unlikely.

On February 19, auditors from the Pentagon, the US Department of State and the Agency for International Development and Assistance (USAID) stated that the Russian Armed Forces were superior to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). In addition, Russian troops are better equipped with artillery, mortars, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missile systems, as well as ammunition.

On February 16, Latvian President Edgar Rinkevich described the Russian troops as very strong and experienced, while noting the effectiveness of the country's military-industrial complex.
