The Russian car market showed a record result in 2026

According to the results of last week, the 12th of the year, almost 24 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Russia. This is an absolute weekly record in 2026. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on March 23.

Sales were 17.5% higher than a week earlier. Compared to the 12th week of last year, the increase was 27.2%.

As for the commercial segment, LCV car sales also set a record this year. Compared to the previous week, they increased by 14.5%, exceeding 1,400 units. Compared to last year, the indicator decreased slightly (-3.4%).

In the truck segment, the figures again exceeded 1 thousand units (+13.5% compared to the previous week). Compared to last year, there is still a negative trend (-13.7%).

In addition, 990 motorcycles were sold in Russia during the week, which is 58% more than a week ago and 10% more than in the same week last year. Motovesna started earlier than usual this year, the expert noted.
