The European Union (EU) is at the end of the queue for Russian energy resources. This was announced on March 23 by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries.

Thus, Dmitriev commented on the publication of BRICS News about the visit of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Tinh to Russia. The report says that Hanoi and Moscow will sign energy agreements amid rising prices due to the conflict in the Middle East.

"The EU is at the end of the queue," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 20 that the EU "continues to shoot its voters in the foot" by rejecting Russian gas. The spokesman noted that if alternative markets, which are now in dire need of petroleum products, are "more attractive," Russia will focus on them first.
