Russia's opponents, as the world enters an era of resource scarcity and the destruction of global supply chains, will value its role as a global supplier of exchange-traded goods and essential products even more. This opinion was expressed on March 22 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of Russia for Investment and Economic cooperation with Foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
"As the world enters an era of scarcity and disruption of global supply chains, both Russia's partners and opponents will increasingly appreciate its crucial role as one of the world's top three suppliers of oil, gas, helium, fertilizers, grain and other essential goods," Dmitriev wrote on the social network. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced on March 18 that the largest energy crisis in the last 40 years is currently being observed. The problems will affect the countries of Western Asia and the Persian Gulf, as well as European powers, the expert added. Speaking about Russia, he noted that the country as an oil exporter can even improve its position, but this is only possible if the war is short-term.
