At least 18 people died as a result of a shipwreck off the Comoros Islands near the village of Mitsamiuli. This was reported on March 19 by the Habariza Comores portal with reference to the local coast guard.

"The Coast Guard of the Comoros Islands reports at least 18 dead," the article says.

According to the portal, on the night of March 18, a ship carrying 51 migrants from the east coast of Africa sank off Ngazija Island. It is specified that the remaining 30 people were rescued after the start of the rescue operation. At the moment, three people are considered missing.

In addition, the search is now continuing in the coastal strip.

In January, it was reported that a Russian citizen was killed and 21 other people were injured on the Thai island of Phuket as a result of a collision between a high-speed tourist boat and a fishing trawler. There were at least 55 people on board the tourist vessel.
