Afghanistan temporarily stopped fighting against Pakistan at the request of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. This was announced on March 18 by a representative of the Taliban government, Zabihullah Mujahid.
"The security and defense forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announce the temporary suspension of defensive operations to "reflect injustice" in connection with the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday and in response to a request from fraternal Islamic intermediary countries," he said on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on March 18 that Russia was deeply concerned about the confrontation between Pakistan and Afghanistan and again called for resolving differences through diplomacy.
On March 16, the Roya News portal reported a series of powerful explosions in Kabul. It was noted that the epicenters were located in the areas of Wazir Akbar Khan and Shahr-e-Nav.
