The head of Tatarstan tested the Chinese premium sedan Maextro S800

During his working visit to China, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, visited the production of Maextro cars from JAC and tested the premium S800 sedan. This was reported by the press service of the RAISA of the republic.

Representatives of JAC told Minnikhanov that the Maextro S800 model is produced by about 1,500 robots, and artificial intelligence is used for quality control at more than 80 sites. The "intelligent" factory covers an area of 540 thousand square meters. m. The planned target annual capacity of the plant is 200 thousand cars per year.

Minnikhanov also visited the JAC research center, where the guests were shown new cars and told about their production and characteristics. The press service of the RAISA of the republic noted that JAC Motors is one of the ten largest automakers in China and produces both passenger cars and trucks and special equipment.

The Maextro S800 is available in both fully electric and hybrid versions. The length of the model is 5480 mm with a wheelbase of 3370 mm. The sedan is considered a competitor to luxury models such as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. In China, such a car costs from 708 thousand yuan (from 8.6 million rubles in translation). This model is not officially represented in Russia, however, according to classifieds, prices for cars delivered to the country through alternative channels start at 16.4 million rubles.

Earlier in the day, BMW unveiled the new i3 electric sedan. It will enter mass production in August of this year at the company in Munich, the first deliveries will begin in the fall of this year.
