In the central district of Beirut, Bachoura, an explosion occurred after an attack by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), as a result of which a building collapsed. This was reported on March 18 by the Reuters news agency.

"After the Israeli military warned residents to evacuate the building before the strike, a loud explosion was heard in the area. The attack was part of a broader wave of Israeli strikes on Lebanon," the publication said.

Footage from social media shows how the projectile arrives at the base of the building, followed by an explosion. A multi-storey building completely collapsed, and a huge column of smoke rose at the arrival site.

On the same day, the IDF launched strikes against targets of the Shiite Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army clarified that it had previously notified the civilian population of the city of Tyre about the attack and called for the evacuation of people.

On March 16, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that the death toll from Israeli strikes in Lebanon had increased to 886 people since March 2, and 2,141 people had been injured.
