Blogger Lercek commented on the court's decision to suspend the case.
Blogger Lerchek (real name Valeria Chekalina), against whom it was decided to suspend the criminal case due to the need to undergo treatment for cancer, commented on the relevant court decision on March 16.
"The criminal case has been suspended. We are very happy about this. But now the most important thing is health," Chekalina said in a video message posted by her child's father, Luis Squicciarini, on Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
Chekalina added that thanks to the verdict of the Gagarin Court in Moscow, she had the opportunity to focus on treatment. The blogger noted that she intends to fight for her life after doctors diagnosed her with fourth-degree stomach cancer.
On the same day, Lercek's defense asked to suspend the proceedings in the case of illegal withdrawal of funds abroad due to her serious health condition. At the same time, the prosecutor's office supported the decision to suspend the case until her recovery. The hospital doctors assessed Lercek's condition as moderate, her lawyer said.
