A critical deterioration in blogger Valeria Chekalina's well-being occurred after the birth of her fourth child at the end of February. After giving birth, she was admitted to the intensive care unit, where doctors discovered a malignant neoplasm and metastases. The disease affected the stomach, spine, legs and, presumably, lungs, which required urgent surgical intervention.

Currently, Chekalina is in the state cancer center under the supervision of specialists. Due to severe pain, doctors use powerful painkillers. The father of the blogger's fourth child, Luis Squicciarini, confirmed the severity of the diagnosis on his social media page.

"My strongest, most radiant and beloved girl has stage four stomach cancer with metastases in her spine, legs and possibly lungs. The diagnosis has already been confirmed," Luis Squicciarini said.

Therapy at the cancer center

Valeria Chekalina's lawyers appealed to the court with a request to suspend the proceedings in the case of illegal withdrawal of funds abroad. The defense insists on lifting the house arrest, pointing out that the defendant cannot appear in court due to her severe physical condition. At a meeting on March 16, Chekalina's representatives noted that she was undergoing intensive treatment.

In the clinic, the blogger has already been prescribed courses of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Luis Squicciarini announced the beginning of a new stage of treatment, noting Chekalina's determination to fight the disease.

"Radiation therapy begins today after the first chemistry," he wrote on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia and banned).

Friends and colleagues of Valeria Chekalina express their support to her, discussing the circumstances of the development of the disease. TV presenter Victoria Bonya suggested that the disease has reached a critical stage due to the lack of timely diagnosis. According to her, a year ago, the court did not allow the blogger to undergo the necessary medical examination.

Information about the spread of metastases was also confirmed by the blogger's friend Alina Akilova. Chekalina's entourage emphasizes that her health required constant monitoring by specialists for a long time, but the conditions of house arrest and judicial restrictions could prevent the disease from being detected in time.
