The auto expert appreciated the idea of teaching wheel replacement in driving schools
Auto expert Egor Vasiliev explained why a seemingly simple proposal to teach wheel replacement in driving schools can turn into a whole set of problems. In an interview with Radio 1 on Monday, March 16, Vasiliev noted that the initiative looks controversial. According to him, many drivers may never face the need to change a tire, especially if the car is not equipped with a spare tire.
Senator Ivan Abramov suggested teaching wheel replacement in driving schools, but in his opinion, it is not worth making this skill mandatory on the exam.
The expert added that such a procedure can be dangerous on the highway, so sometimes it is safer to wait for the emergency service. In addition, it can be difficult to unscrew the wheel bolts with a standard wrench, and using a jack on an uneven surface can create additional difficulties.
According to Vasiliev, in driving schools it is more important to pay attention to basic safety rules — for example, the correct installation of an emergency stop sign and understanding of car signals. He noted that many modern motorists are becoming "consumers of mobility services" rather than drivers who are well versed in the device of the car.
On March 16, auto expert Andrey Lomanov advised not to change winter tires to summer tires until April. According to him, the universal way to understand that you can go for a tire service is to feel the batteries in the apartment. If the heating is turned off, it means the winter season is over, the website writes kp.ru .
On March 13, auto expert Igor Mishin, in an interview with RT, noted that during the daytime the air and highways warm up, and at night there is a possibility of frost. In this regard, it is important to keep a distance and avoid traffic on the road markings in order to avoid possible skidding.
On March 12, Pavel Pestsov, Vice-president of the Guild of Driving Schools of Russia, was surprised by the deputies' proposal to train drivers to refuel. According to him, driving schools already teach technical knowledge about the design of cars, so there is no need to put them in a separate educational block.
On March 10, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, said that it was too early for drivers in Moscow to switch to summer tires — night frosts persisted in March and the risk of cold weather returning was high. March remains an unstable month, so it is not worth changing winter tires before the beginning of April, in his opinion.
