The lifting of US restrictions on Russian oil by April 11 may improve its economic situation. This was reported on March 13 by the British newspaper The Telegraph.

"Turbulence in the energy market is disproportionately beneficial to Russia, as it reduces the effectiveness of large—scale sanctions imposed by the West," the publication says.

It is noted that Britain does not support the decision of US President Donald Trump to lift sanctions against Russian oil.

The U.S. Treasury Department said that as part of the changes in the sanctions policy, the United States granted an exception for the sale of Russian oil and petroleum products shipped before March 12. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent explained that the withdrawal of oil sales from Russia from US sanctions is aimed at reducing the cost of energy resources on world markets.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 13 that stability in global energy markets was impossible without significant volumes of Russian oil. Peskov added that the withdrawal of a number of Russian oil products from US sanctions would help "to some extent" stabilize energy prices, which are rising due to the war in Iran.
