The expert warned of an environmental disaster in the Arctic due to the war in Iran

The consequences of fires from the bombing of Iranian oil storage facilities can lead to an acceleration of ice melting, as well as air pollution, which seriously threatens the ecology of the Arctic and the entire planet. This was announced on March 13 by Alexander Vorotnikov, coordinator of the expert Council of the Arctic Development Project Office (PORA), associate professor at the RANEPA Institute of Social Sciences.

"America and Israel's attack on Iran will actually have a very serious impact on the ecology of the entire planet and the Arctic in particular," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the expert, the gorenje produces soot that can fall in the Russian Arctic. This, as Vorotnikov noted, could lead to an acceleration of glacier melting and a change in climatic conditions in the region.

The Axios portal reported on March 10 that the administration of US President Donald Trump asked the Israeli government to stop attacks on Iran's energy complex, including the oil structure. Among the reasons for such actions, the portal cited the fact that Trump plans to use Iranian oil after the end of the operation in a similar way as in Venezuela.

Israeli TV channel N12 noted on March 8 that tensions are rising between the United States and Israel due to strikes on Iran's oil infrastructure. On the same day, the United States announced that it had no plans to strike at the facilities of the Islamic Republic's fuel and gas industry.

At the same time, CNN reported on the same day that Israel had launched attacks on Iranian oil storage facilities as part of the next stage of the conflict in the Middle East. It was noted that fuel storage facilities in Tehran were hit.
