The price of Brent crude oil rose above $100 per barrel
The cost of one barrel of Brent crude oil exceeded $100. This was reported on March 12 by the Reuters news agency.
"Prices for both oil brands rose by 9%, while Brent crude futures reached $100.22 per barrel, continuing to rise by more than 4% overnight. Futures for American oil were priced at $95.41 per barrel," the publication says.
It is specified that the sharp increase in prices is associated with reports of new ship collisions in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the closure of oil terminals.
Sabereen news agency reported on March 11 that a tanker was attacked off the coast of Iraq, and a fire broke out. Later, Iraqi analyst Salman Haider reported on the social network X that the Iraqi Navy had rescued the ship's crew.
