The administration of US President Donald Trump has asked the Israeli government to stop attacks on Iran's energy sector, including the oil industry. This was reported on March 10 by the Axios portal, citing sources.

"The Trump administration on Monday appealed to Israel not to launch further strikes against Iran's energy sector facilities, especially the oil infrastructure," the publication says.

Among the reasons for such actions, the portal cited the fact that Trump plans to use Iranian oil after the end of the operation in a similar way as in Venezuela.

On March 10, the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a new series of strikes on the Iranian capital. It was clarified that the strikes were aimed at targets of the Iranian regime.

According to the material, the seizure of the island could lead to Iran's inability to continue its confrontation with the United States, since oil sales account for 40% of the republic's total income.
