On March 8, employees of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow congratulated the residents of the capital on International Women's Day. As part of the campaign, the police distributed flowers to the women and staged a concert in the subway.
Traffic police officers stopped female drivers on the Nikitsky Gate Square, however, instead of the usual request to provide documents, they gave them tulips and wished them happiness.
Flowers were also given to women drivers of public transport, employees of airports, metro stations and passers—by on the streets of the city. In addition, at the Kurskaya metro station, the orchestra, led by Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal service Igor Kanurin, staged a concert at the Music in the Subway venue for passengers.
"The passage between Kurskaya Koltsevaya and Radialnaya turned into a concert hall: women sang along, danced and took pictures with musicians. The Police Department of Internal Affairs on the Moscow Metro gave beautiful ladies bouquets of tulips," the metropolitan police wrote on the MAX messenger channel.
On March 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the women of Russia on the upcoming International Women's Day on March 8. The Head of State noted that Russian women are always responsible about their work.
