Zakharova pointed to Kiev's inability to compromise

Zakharova noted that Moscow has never used energy supplies to Europe as an instrument of pressure. According to her, the stable supply chain was destroyed by Kiev's actions in 2022, including after the explosion of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

The diplomat added that in the confrontation between Hungary and Ukraine over Russian oil supplies, the Kiev regime is not ready to compromise, as it is only an instrument of the West. In her opinion, this approach contradicts international law and Hungary's national interests.

"The Kiev regime does not want to negotiate with anyone. <...> And Hungary defends its national interests. Hungary has been saying for many years that what the European Commission is doing is complete madness in this area," Zakharova stressed.
