Bloomberg reported on the arrival of an Iranian warship in the port of India
India received the Iranian warship IRIS Lavan in the port of Kochi. This was reported on March 7 by Bloomberg, citing an Indian official.
"Tehran appealed to New Delhi on February 28 with an urgent request to provide a berth for the frigate IRIS Lavan, citing technical problems... The request was approved on March 1, and the ship has been in the port of Kochi since Wednesday," the publication says.
It is noted that the ship's crew, consisting of 183 people, was stationed at naval bases in India. At the same time, according to the newspaper's sources, the Iranian sailors will remain in Kochi until the ship's repairs are completed.
Bloomberg noted that the Iranian ship entered the Indian port shortly after the US armed forces sank the Iranian warship IRIS Dena off the coast of Sri Lanka.
The attack on the Iranian ship by a submarine became known on March 4. Later, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth claimed that an American submarine had sunk an Iranian ship.
Military expert Yuri Knutov, in an interview with Izvestia on the same day, noted that the ship was sunk by a US submarine amid insufficient organization of the Iranian crew and low chances of detecting the vessel at sea due to the quiet operation of the American submarine.
Fox News reported on March 5 that the IRIS Dena was sunk by a single U.S. torpedo, which is estimated to cost $4.2 million.
