Amid the escalation in the Middle East, gasoline in the United States rose to $3.32 per gallon. This was reported on Friday, March 6, by Bloomberg, citing data from the American Automobile Association (AAA).

"The average retail price of gasoline rose to $3.32 a gallon on Thursday. Futures have also increased by 27% this week and are heading for the largest weekly increase since March 2022," the publication says.

These figures, as noted in the article, are record-breaking for all periods in which the country was ruled by the current president, Donald Trump.

The price of Brent crude oil increased to $90 per barrel on the ICE exchange on March 6. On the same day, Trump, commenting on the situation, assured his citizens that the situation would change soon, as he had "already dealt with it."

Attacked by the United States and Israel as part of Operation Lion's Roar, Iran has completely closed the Strait of Hormuz, which is used for the passage of oil tankers. Because of this, some large companies and leading trading houses have suspended the supply of crude oil and fuel through this territory.

Qatar's Energy Minister Saad Sherida al-Kaabi predicted the imminent announcement of force majeure by gas exporters. According to him, the continuation of the conflict could result in the "collapse of all the economies of the world." According to the forecast of the head of the Qatari Ministry of Energy, at this rate, the cost of oil per barrel will be approximately $ 150.
