The congress of the country's youngest political force, the New People Party, is taking place in St. Petersburg on March 5. Several thousand participants came here from all over Russia. Over the six years of its work, the party has managed to gain the trust of a large number of Russians, largely thanks to important initiative projects in science, education, medicine and other spheres of society.

"In St. Petersburg, we remembered who held some congresses last time. It looks like it was 1917, the Bolshevik congresses. Since then, it seems, there have been no party congresses," said Alexey Nechaev, chairman of the New People party.

According to correspondent Danil Lankov, the party has held more than 1,000 eco-festivals and clean-up days. The Voice of the City project was opened several years ago in Tomsk, and now street musicians from 36 regions have received venues for performances. And the "I'm in Business" project has already helped Russian schoolchildren and students open 22 thousand startups.

"Yes, we take an ordinary cargo container, convert it into a fitness room, put it around the city, and people rent through our application at a convenient time for them. If you agree with the management company, you can put it anywhere," said Alexander Nesterov, a student and founder of the startup.

The "New People" themselves have gone from being, in fact, a political startup to a real parliamentary force. The party has 735 deputies of various levels, and even more supporters.

"This is my first congress. I am a supporter of the party. I decided to look at everything from the inside, by myself. How the party really works, how it promotes its projects, how it will develop, its path: from the beginning to the present moment," said Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Kozlov, head of intelligence of the 77th separate Motorized Rifle Regiment.

Six years is an important date for "New People". Their first parliamentary cycle is coming to an end in 2026.

"Today we are everywhere: there are branches in 81 regions where branches have not yet been opened, there are still "New People," said Alexey Nechaev.

They advocate direct elections of governors, direct responsibility of officials for decisions that have caused harm to citizens, and regulation of the Internet — not broad, but smart. Here is one of the solutions for the upcoming election campaign.

"Our agitators will be able to distribute the Internet. I'll show you what it will look like. Each of our agitators will have a QR code. Everyone will be able to use it and connect to Wi-Fi," said Vladislav Davankov, first deputy head of the New People party, Vice Speaker of the State Duma.

The results of the work of the "New People" for the first Duma five-year plan: 230 of the 525 bills submitted were adopted. Of the latter, for example, on March 1, a law came into force prohibiting automatic charges for online subscriptions. This is also the idea of the "New People", which they submitted to the State Duma. The indicator of legislative effectiveness was entered into the Russian Book of Records right at the congress.

Alexey Nechaev noted on February 26 that the participants of the All-Russian competition for young environmentalists "Green Offset" were people who show interest in everything related to nature. The head of the faction added that the beginning of the second stage of the Environmental Olympiad shows the attitude of Russians to what is happening in the country and the world. He also spoke about the positive dynamics of the competition in terms of the number of participants compared to the period last year.
